Policy & Guidelines

1. Purpose

Weaving Wor(l)ds is a creative space where poets across the Caribbean and diaspora can grow, share, and refine their craft. To maintain a respectful, enriching environment, all members are expected to uphold the following guidelines.

2. Community Expectations

  • Respect & Inclusivity

This is a safe space for creative exploration. Respect all voices, perspectives, and backgrounds.

Discrimination, hate speech, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • Confidentiality & Trust

What is shared in our sessions stays within the community.

Discussions about personal experiences should be treated with care and confidentiality.

  • Sharing Work

All work shared remains the intellectual property of the poet. Please respect this by not reproducing or sharing another member’s work outside the community without permission.

If a poem you have written and choose to share with the community contains sensitive or triggering content, provide a content warning before sharing.

  • Session Etiquette

Be on time and fully present during workshops.

Cameras on (if possible), mics muted unless speaking.

Avoid talking over others—give space for every voice.

3. Feedback & Workshopping

  • Weekly Sessions: A space for exploration, encouragement, and critique. We celebrate what’s working in a poem while also offering thoughtful, constructive feedback. Participants are encouraged to share both what resonates and what could be refined, using specific examples from the poem. Feedback should be respectful, clear, and focused on helping the poet grow.

  • Fortnightly Feedback Sessions (Optional):  A deeper, more intensive space for members who want to refine a specific piece. Here, we go beyond general impressions and explore revision strategies, experimentation, and structural changes. Poets receive detailed, example-based feedback to help them shape their work more intentionally. Participation is not required—these sessions are for those actively seeking critique on a poem in progress.

4. Participation & Engagement

Regular attendance is encouraged. If you must miss a session, let the facilitators know in advance.
Be an active member—engage in discussions, support fellow poets, and contribute to a culture of creative exchange.

5. Conflict Resolution

If an issue arises, address it respectfully or speak privately with a facilitator.
Violations of these guidelines may result in a private discussion, temporary removal, or permanent exclusion from the community, depending on severity.

6. Membership & Access
This is a paid community—an active membership is required for continued access.
Exclusive resources, worksheets, and private discussions are for members only.

7. Acknowledgment
